Nginx for Windows is a freeware HTTP server app and Windows server, developed by Igor Sysoev for Windows.

The download has been tested by an editor here on a PC and a list of features has been compiled; see below. We've also created some screenshots of Nginx for Windows to illustrate the user interface and show the overall usage and features of this HTTP serving program.

Fast and customizable web server with a version for Windows

Version of nginx for Windows uses the native Win32 API.

One of the processes is the master process and another is the worker process. If nginx does not start, look for the reason in the error log file logs\error.log. If the log file has not been created, the reason for this should be reported in the Windows Event Log. If an error page is displayed instead of the expected page, also look for the reason in the logs\error.log file.

nginx/Windows uses the directory where it has been run as the prefix for relative paths in the configuration. In the example above, the prefix is C:\nginx-1.23.

What version of Windows can Nginx for Windows run on?

Nginx for Windows can be used on a computer running Windows 11 or Windows 10. Previous versions of the OS shouldn't be a problem with Windows 8 and Windows 7 having been tested. It comes in both 32-bit and 64-bit downloads.
